VOSB Certification Eligibility

While eligibility criteria may vary in individual cases, there are several key qualifications your business must meet to be eligible for the VOSB Program, including:

  • The business must be 51% owned and controlled by a Veteran who is a U.S. citizen
  • The Veteran must hold the highest officer position and receive the highest compensation in the company
  • The business must have proper licensing with the federal and state governments
  • The Veteran must have no outstanding federal debts or obligations
  • Access to DD214 form

Veteran Consideration

To be recognized as a Veteran of the United States, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Served on active duty with the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard for any period and received a discharge other than dishonorable
  • Served as a Reservist or member of the National Guard and were called to federal active duty or disabled due to a disease or injury incurred or aggravated in the line of duty
  • If you meet these qualifications and Veterans comprise 51% of the ownership of your business, you may qualify for a VOSB Certification.
